Sylvana – OFFICE MANAGER
With many years of experience in the dental industry, Sylvana has been at Westend Dental for 25 years. Sylvana’s favorite part of being Office Manager is working with the entire Westend team to provide the best care for patients as well as learn new technologies in the dental field. Sylvana first started her managerial career as a licensed cosmetologist and managed a variety of salons including Elizabeth Arden, Ulta Beauty and more. Because of her passion for helping customers and offering them attentive service, Sylvana made the switch to dentistry and since then has been providing Westend Dental patients with the utmost care and respect. When not in the office, Sylvana can be found spending time with her husband and fur baby, Noella, or enjoying the company of family and friends.
Kelly B., R.D.H.
Kelly joined the Westend Dental team in 2014. Kelly has enjoyed getting to know her patients and educating them on how to achieve oral health. Kelly is passionate and committed to making hygiene appointments a comfortable and positive experience. She received her associate’s degree in Dental Hygiene from College of DuPage in 2012. A few years into practicing clinical hygiene, she had the opportunity to further her education. She studied Healthcare Management at Concordia University Chicago and graduated in 2017 with a Bachelors of Arts degree. Through the completion of this degree, years of experience and passion for patient care, Kelly learned valuable skills which lead to her promotion as the Westend Dental Hygiene Team Leader. Kelly and her husband, Nick, live in the Lincoln Park neighborhood with their two cats, Duke and Lynk and her dog, Tyson. In her free time, Kelly enjoys cooking, traveling, working out and dining out at Chicago’s many restaurants.
Elizabeth G., R.D.H.
Elizabeth joined the Westend Dental Team in 2019. She has been a Registered Dental Hygienist for 2 years. Elizabeth attended DePaul University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science and Psychology, before pursuing her degree in Dental Hygiene. Her personal health and wellness, as well as the health and wellness of others, has always been a passion for her. This is what drew her to Dental Hygiene. Elizabeth believes that a happy smile is a healthy smile. She loves the confidence her patients have after a cleaning. In her free time, Elizabeth loves to travel. She also enjoys binge watching baking competitions on Netflix.
Venesa K., R.D.H.
Venesa joined the Westend Dental Team in 2019. She comes to Westend Dental with 27 years of experience in the Dental field. Venesa started out as a Dental Assistant before receiving her Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene, at Indiana University. She is committed to providing gentle, compassionate care to each of her patients. Her focus is on her patients periodontal and gingival health, as well as educating her patients on proper home care. In her free time, Venesa enjoys spending quality time with her husband and two children. She loves spending time vacationing in Greece and the beautiful islands off its coast.
Elizabeth D., R.D.H.
Lizzy attended Indiana University Northwest and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene. She is originally from Indiana but now lives here in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. Lizzy loves the dental field because she is able to be personable with her patients and help them achieve overall health starting with their oral hygiene. Outside of dentistry Lizzy enjoys going to concerts, trying new restaurants, and spending time with her friends and family.
Karina M., R.D.H.
Karina joined the Westend Dental team in 2021. She comes to Westend Dental from Northwest Indiana, where she received her bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene. Karina has always enjoyed going to the dentist and was eager to help others feel the same way. She believes that providing gentle yet thorough care is essential for all her patients to have a great dental experience. In her spare time, Karina enjoys spending quality time with her family, boyfriend, and godson.
Lucy – CLINICAL TEAM LEADER
With over 18 years of dental assisting experience, Lucy has spent nine of those years helping and teaching Westend Dental patients the importance of dental health and how to take care of their smile. Although certified in both coronal polishing and oral sedation, Lucy enjoys every aspect of dentistry whether it’s cosmetic, surgical, orthodontic or implants. Along with seeing many patients throughout the day, Lucy loves working with the Westend team and continually learning new techniques in the dental industry. When not at Westend, Lucy can be found relaxing by watching movies, enjoying the latest Chicago restaurants or spending time with her husband and three children.
Carmen – ADMINISTRATIVE TEAM LEADER
Prior to joining the team, Carmen gained over 13 years of experience in the healthcare field. Carmen has worn several hats at Westend Dental. From Hygiene Coordinator, to Marketing Director and now Administrative Team Leader. Carmen has enjoyed all the knowledge and experience that she has gained from the various roles she’s had. She recognizes how the skills she has picked up along the way, can affect patients and help connect them to people who care. Carmen fully embraces the Westend Dental vision of providing patients with a “feel good” experience. In her free time, Carmen enjoys spending time with her family and fur baby, Ginger. She enjoys cooking and entertaining friends.
